LAWRENCE GRECCO - BIOGRAPHY

Lawrence Grecco’s photography has been exhibited extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and seen in publications such as Paper Magazine, Empire, Go Big!, Time Out New York, Gus Magazine (Belgium), American Movie Classics Magazine, Photography New York International, the Long Island Voice, the Village Voice, Blue (Australia), as well as the photographic anthology "Exposed”.

His work is included in the permanent collections of the Centro di Ricerca ed Archivazione della Fotografia Spilembergo (Italy), the Hillwood Art Museum (Old Brookville, New York), the Leslie Lohman Art Foundation, and Art Men Paris in Paris, France.

His personal involvement in martial arts, particularly jiu jitsu, wrestling, and other fighting methods inspired him to document Turkey’s annual outdoor wrestling tournament (Kirkpinar) over a three year period, resulting in his first photography book “Turkish Wrestling” released in 2004. He is currently working on a memoir.
